I might leave it for a week or so and let the dust settle on the announcement. Hopefully by then they might have more information. Just wondered what usually happens for those in talent pools for positions when a franchise changes hands.
With the announcement today that Arriva has won the bid for the new northern franchise, does anyone have any idea where this leaves those candidates still "on hold" for Northern Rail Trainee Drivers for Manchester, Wigan, Liverpool depots, and those on hold since early 2014?
Many thanks.
"Those of you who claim to be on hold for this or in the talent pool... Did you actually apply for Lime Street or was it some other nearby depot? You're only on hold for the depot you applied for. Even though I live nearer Liverpool I know I applied and interviewed for Manchester so don't expect...
I knew that the best scores are at the top of the "list" but I thought that they would eventually work through this rather than run a recruitment drive at expense to the company, hence putting people in a "talent pool". I can only think that Lime St actually has no on hold candidates themselves...
Who knows mate. Maybe they are planning for any potential new franchise routes from Liverpool and therefore they may need more trainee drivers that are currently in the pool for Liverpool Lime St. I hope that is the case for you. Did you get the e-mail for Northern the other week?
Hi Louby
I have been in the pool for Driver since Feb 14, don't know how many have been taken on this year. Still jumping for the phone when it rings. :)
