I'm on an 8 hour roster on a grade 6 panel. I get the feeling that the general consensus is that most of the other lads (and me) would like to go onto a 12 hour roster as it is a lot better for work/life balance. Getting that actually in place is another matter!
I've mostly been on the live panel after my conversion onto the VDU. I have got a few days of sim work in this coming week though. I was one of the 7 that were taken onto grade 6 and 8 jobs in the Spring. Signalling school was good, so long as you apply yourself and don't think you're going for...
Hi Clydefrog. It depends on what trainers are available at signalling school when you go. I've just got back to TBROC a couple of weeks ago having done NX, the course before ours was WestCAD. The problem is (at York, at least) there are only a couple of trainers who do the VDU training. Most do...
I had about a two week wait to hear after my interview (mid April), the offer came through at the end of May and was confirmed after all the medical tests.
Good to hear...should have known you were Sussex with a handle like 'Seagull' (UTA!). Thanks for the info, I'm going in this Friday to...
Hi all,
I'm starting my course at York next Monday. Would any of you guys that have been up there for the last month have any tips I might need to know etc?
Also, what's the deal with travel? I know the LOM is booking my train tickets for the Sunday out/Friday back - are they set time...
Thanks!
The process was long. Be prepared for a fair amount of thumb twiddling between each stage. Between applying and offer was about 3 months if I remember rightly.
I'm going in from a Police background (I hear a fair few are from my force at the moment) and I think the examples I...
I equally have no previous railway experience but I've been accepted into the Three Bridges ROC. Starting my training at the end of the month! Don't let that put you off.
Hi mate, sorry I've only just seen this! Medical all completed and had my appointment confirmation through yesterday. Has everything gone through for you? Good to know there's others on here on the same course!
I'm going to be starting at York next month. I know NR sort out accommodation but will I have to get myself there and back at the weekend or is travel covered as well?
Cheers.
