No impressed with LNERS changes to the Aberdeen services. The end to end journey time gets longer and the addition of extra stops in southern England will just mean getting decent fares for stations north of edinburgh on weekends and summer will be impossible cause they will be filled up with...
Only on 1e11 (0752 Aberdeen departure) mon-sat, this means the crew can work back on 1W02 (0708 Leeds departure). Also on sundays only catering crew on 1e19 so they can assist back on 1w11 (1000 London departure). All others the crew changes are at Waverley.
Every train company is moving to the use the window seats only model to give other passengers and staff as much space as possible to move through train. You don’t like it get in your car and drive.
The reason both ends will be shut will be for when the train changes direction en route or between journeys. It will not be practical to deep clean that area on all those occasions.
Last September I flew to Manchester and was also trying to get Liverpool. I knew the train, checked the platform went there, an announcement was made, a minute later the train left from the platform Across the tracks from us not the advertised one.

Plus the Redcar site isn’t owned by British Steel. Hasn’t been since they (well Tata) sold it to SSI back in 2009. They went under a few years ago so the current sale won’t affect that station at all.
That was for a two week period while the repatriation flights were going on. This is a completely different type airline and imo it’s unreasonable to expect TOCS to carry people for free for however many months people have bought tickets for.
At certain stations it will be locked out of use. Aberdeen and Inverness for example. There is no door control panel at that door so it is to stop people running for it mid despatch and causing delayed departures.
