I could only find 2X4C and 5B98 listed on platform 8 (open train times) but couldn't find any more details. 2X4C seems an odd headcode, does anyone know if this related to that train? Has anybody got RTT to display any details on it?

Can you clarify the platform number please ? There's only 8 platforms at Brighton. I was having a look in RTT to see if I could see it but I can't seem to get it to list any GX services at the moment.

I would think SHF is the three letter railway code for Sheffield, with SPT being Stockport. Not heard of MCT defence though.

It's usually safer to remain on the train but this is a difficult one, not least because every situation is so so different. It depends on whats happened, where it's happened, is there any hazards from egressing i.e. Live rail / live ohle / other trains running / sheer drop. The list goes...

Reading this thread got me thinking about a brake failure incident on a 319 at Haywards Heath in 2006. In that case a washer had found its way into one of the drumswitches on the train and shorted out wiring causing a false feed to be sent to the brakes. I wonder if something similar could...

Thanks all, it was the neatness that threw me I think as I didn’t study it for too long.

Say a long journey of 4 split tickets. Second train delayed causing a knock-on effect and means you be at least an hour late, maybe more. All tickets are Standard singles no advances. Can you take a more direct route and arrive on time or is it just a case of arrive late and claim delay...
