IF it helps, I have heard that there will be no more trainees this year. There are far to many sitting around doing nothing at moment. If you are serious about working for fgw then sit it out and wait to hear back. I would say possibly in the new year now before you hear anything. But I know...
yup,got the call this morning, i start 3rd march contracts in the post. they offered me one next week or week after but i need to give more notice at work so not able to start on that course.
well if a course is starting next week, i cant imagine another course starting until that one is past the rules and possible traction unless they have enough resources to have more than one course.if i dont hear anything by next week ill have to ring.
Oh that's not very good then, i've got to arrange new accomodation closer to oxford and need to know a start date because i need to hand my notice in at work as well. The only thing i was told after my interview is that i would be starting in march/april. thanks for that info.
just had my medical this morning, how soon after medical do fgw get in contact and do they then send a contract out? i passed my medical all satisfactory.
Morning,
When I had my dm interview I made sure I knew just as much about fgw as I did about first group themselves so I would say 50/50 other people might have different opinions but from my experience that paid off for me.
Regards
Kyle
Yes good luck to you as well, I'm currently awaiting a medical for trainee driver position which are accepting my original assessments and i don't really want to take the chance on the new ones if i do not need to as much as toton would be perfect for me as its 3 miles from my parents in nottingham.
I had a phone call from DBS on tuesday saying they want to progress my application but they require me to do the new tests. So they said to ring back in the new year to say whether i want to take the new tests as it will make my current tests invalid.
i hope so, thats what they told me in my dm interview when i asked them, because they anticipate some drivers may leave during the IEP so they want a good compliment of drivers to cover all eventualities.
they are recruiting 300 drivers over the next few years ready for the IEP. so you've nothing to worry about, just concentrate on getting it all right on the day.
I had previously passed all my psychometric testing so i didn't do them with fgw. they've been very quick getting in contact and progressing through the stages. well good luck for you medical and will look forward to meeting you in march or april.
