Absolute fastest way to get from the Lyric Theatre in Hammersmith to Euston Station?

Same on the TFL journey planner (though it suggests one stop on the bus from Euston Square to Euston for some reason)

Terminus stations in uk with water refill for trains.

I remember them at Portsmouth Harbour. I think their use has diminished since the introduction of retention toilets - they get refilled when the tanks are emptied. Was water used for cooling on some stock?

RailAir Codes when using National Rail website?

The National Rail website can't sell you tickets, it will direct you to a retailer. I would suggest using the forums ticket website if you are booking it as a through ticket from a different station. Or if you are making your way directly to the station by other means, there is a RailAir website...

    Longest platform- platform interchange

Only when they didn't want you to use the overbridge or if you alight at the extreme ends - though 13/14 to platform 12 if the lift is broken is a pain

Ranger ticket from unstaffed station query.

For most (if not all) Northern TVMs that only applies if you are intending to pay with cash.

DLR to have free travel across the river Thames

I found this from the current list of concessions:

Trains in other countries which switch from using overhead wires to using third rail during the journey.

The MBTA Blue line in Boston - 3rd rail south of Maverick on the former street car section, and overhead power (both 600 V DC) on the Revere extension (itself a conversion from narrow gauge too), to avoid icing issues in the costal air.

Notice of Intention to Prosecute- please help :(

Link to the Unizone ticket information here: https://www.southernrailway.com/tickets/discounts-and-railcards/unizone - essentially it covers local stations within a certain distance of the campus(es)

Eurostar prices vs Interrail pass family workaround

That's part of the reason Interrail tickets have been mentioned as the rail journey to and from St Pancras is included, and definitely worth it if you buy the pass when they have a sale on.

    Worth pursuing with Ombudsman?

Checking National Rail for tomorrow shows an 1127 departure from KGX to EDB changing at York so it's a valid journey, just not direct.

    Thameslink Core pantograph strike

If so this could be enforced via signals then - the railway equivalent of a stop sign

    Fast Lines through Stations

If this is the bay platforms, some were filled in for Motorail. It was considered as a location for regional Eurostar car terminal and maintained immigration facilities as a backup for Waterloo International. It would be great if it were the London equivalent of Marne-la-Vallée-Chessy but it...

Can you take a banner repeater “out of action”?

Found this photo of the one at Deansgate and bit of an explanation

Red sliding switch on platform wall

Datum plates see this page, figure 7. It shows the relative height of the rail from the red marker (which allows precise changes to be shown by moving the marker relative to the plate)

Why does google not show railway station postcodes

It depends on the data that Google has, and this comes from numerous sources, but not the official Royal Mail PAF (postcode address file) database as you need to pay to access that. There is a 'suggest an edit' button where you can suggest Google adds the postcode. However if you are picking...
