No when you start. im not sure how much you know about talent pools but they are basically a cruel beast the companies have you on standby for when they might need you. you will only get a medical when you are offered a position

What depot are you waiting on

After you pass all the tests to get a job you will be offered a position subject to a medical which will include eyesight test and colour blindness test

I was in the same position myself but the other way round GA is better money training but less when qualified just under 30 training 52 when qualified. FL is 20 in the classroom 25 whilst trainer driving and just under 55 trained for HH. But you don't get the discount travel with FL.
