Different way to word disruption information

I dislike entities that don't have emotions - like an automated announcement speaking on behalf of a faceless corporation - stating that they are "sad" or "sorry". Like "Great Western Railway apologises for this late running". Well, one, no it doesn't, not in any active sense; it's a...

Are interior lights on some new/refurbished trains too bright? If so, what could be done?

This makes a lot of sense and probably accounts for why I prefer Voyagers to IETs - especially at night.

Old Street via King's cross using London Terminals ticket

My experience has been that the mere word "Moorgate" is enough for them to open the barriers instantly - the LU gateline seems to be well-trained on this.

Forthcoming changes to National Rail Conditions of Travel

Even if you've been issued with a Smartcard?

Forthcoming changes to National Rail Conditions of Travel

That's a fair point. I had forgot about your two-contract interpretation but I agree that it's quite persuasive. I would argue that the NRCoT and your rights as a passenger, however, are specific to the second contract that the railway enters into when you purchase the ticket or validate the...

Forthcoming changes to National Rail Conditions of Travel

Agreed. Do RTVs create a contract? Does being awarded Nectar points create a contract, because they're redeemable as tickets? Plainly not. I don't see how being issued with an Oyster or KeyGo card is any different.

When the card is validated/the tap in is accepted with a green light on the Oyster reader.

Forthcoming changes to National Rail Conditions of Travel

I agree with others that you don't have any contractual rights before you tap in. You're no different from anybody else that the railway hasn't agreed to do business with. The railway has to take some kind of "action" to do business with you and accept the contract - sell a ticket, validate a...

Forthcoming changes to National Rail Conditions of Travel

I don't think intent to travel on the passenger's part creates a contract with the railway. For example, if I board a local train at a station without a ticket machine, say King's Nympton, intending to buy a ticket to Birmingham New Street, but it turns out that the XC line is closed due to a...

GWR accused of disrupting Wales-England train links by Welsh Government

What does TAG-compliant mean here? (i.e. what's TAG?)

    What is a 'Mishap'?

That's delightful. I hope that I hear of a train being cancelled due to a mishap!

Would Delay Relay cover the overall journey if PlusBus was added?

I would assume one can claim compensation for the whole cost of the ticket (i.e. including the PlusBus supplement) but only against the delay in arriving at the railway station - not the time getting home.

I think I have also seen this at Didcot.
