So,
I was booked on the 19:34 off Liverpool Lime Street, having rebooked three times having originally been booked on the 17:04.
According to the station manager (who said "are you lm by any chance"), confirmed that the 20:18 service (should have been the 18:04) would run, or if it didn't...
I must admit I've been very impressed with 220's get-away from a standing start over the years.
Sitting at the rear of a 220, it has been quite amazing to see how quickly they build up pace whilst still within the platforms at Brighton!
One route that's always been a clear stand-out to be a loco-hauled service is Birmingham-Liverpool Lime Street. I can't for the life of me ever understand why this became effectively a semi-commuter route.
The class 350's that operate on the route are immensely uncomfortable!
Seem to recall riding on a 321 between B'ham International and Coventry non-stop which was doing a fair old rate of knots.
Certainly got chucked around on it that's for sure!
I travel regularly on the Pendolino's from Birmingham down to London, and find more often than not, a very disconcerting vibration when they are at top whack or in a tilt phase.
Obviously, after many trips, it becomes the norm, but still often see people looking around with that look of unease...
I understand that Euston is currently closed for the second time today because of a fire alarm activation...
Aside of the disruption this is causing because of the closure, is there any news or reason for the alarm activation?? Surely twice in one day can't be co-incidence unless its a faulty...
Any ideas what was happening on the WCML between Tile Hill and Berkswell earlier? I had heard that there was a TSR in place for some reason adding to the chaos, causing delays on the LM locals and W&S services.
