I remember some speculative videos on YouTube about the plans for Crossrail 2 and the accompanying changes at Euston needed to cope with the transfers between HS2 and Crossrail 2.

Back in the late 70s I used to live near Padgate (Near Warrington) and there were times at the weekend when the station was closed. I always asked the driver if they would stop for me to get off and never received a refusal. It saved me going to Warrington and getting a bus back.
