Think it's more to give the Sidcup line a service, than for that particular journey. There's enough RR Bus's that weekend as it is. And maybe it will also give a good view of the Hither Green depot as well.

It's an option in the Kent route study page 60:

From an operational point of view it looks to be all about reducing the conflicting moves across the Lewisham junction. All I can see that will go across the diamond, and also using the Tanners Hill fly down, is the 4 tph (+2tph in peaks) Charing Cross via Bexlyheath service.
