    Scotrail Franchise - Abellio

There are lots of politics at play, we saw it with Ca lMac. Labour have a habit of wanting , demanding , the process for tendering change. But never doing anything about it when in power, indeed they did not propose changes to the rail franchises in the recent Smith Commission. Still , we are...

    Edinburgh Tram developments

I need to be convinced on this. I live in the city and haven't used the trams yet. Also I was totally against the development in the first place It is one line that runs from the Airport missing most of the population hot spots in Edinburgh. I remember the utter chaos that the works...

The Scottish Labour Party announce plans to renationalise the railway

This is exactly what it is. Murphy and his party are in real trouble. He needs to appear left of centre to counter the SNP. The problem is he is a right wing Blairite, even his own union backed someone else for the leadership.

    ScotRail: What are they like?

I don't use them as much as I used to, but on the whole they are not too bad. A lot more services that a few years ago. Edinburgh to Glasgow now has the choice of three lines. But two of them can take a while. I sometimes use Edinburgh / Stirling Dunblane and getting a seat say joining at...

    Your rail predictions for 2015

Interesting to see how electrification in Scotland proceeds. And the new franchise. Is it a private monopoly rather than a public one?
