Multinational bidder list for Merseyrail stock

Albeit the bid team is perhaps a bit of a novelty, the J-TREC bid has hidden strengths. Not least because the the Japanese manufacturer is part of one of the world's most successful railway companies - JR East. It's not clear yet what they will bring to the table but it could be very interesting.
