    Most of our trips are for leisure, and in no particular hurry. TBH, Avanti works out great - we get Delay Repay so often it's saving a fortune :-)

    Not sure if has been noted elsewhere, but the M61 overbridge on the Chorley line has finally had its parapets done. I've no idea why the Wigan line ones were raised years ago unless someone simply mixed up the bridges...

    Yes, but the northern end of the line closed in the late 60s, and the M62 didn't open until the early 70s. So did the M62 bridge ever get used?
