Sorry if off topic - can re-post elsewhere if so. We are thinking about moving to Billericay. What’s the train service like into Liverpool St from there? Good odds of getting a seat in the morning peak?
The only Greater Anglia trains that call at any station other than Romford are the 05:37 at Seven Kings on the ML platform 1 and the 01:06 at Gidea Park but that uses the regular EL platform 4. So the answer to the OP is both ML platforms at all the other intermediate stations between Stratford...
Purple TfL roundels are appearing on platforms now (eg Chadwell Heath, Goodmayes), with plain rectangular name signs being put on the mainline platforms not used by the TfL services.
Does anyone have any thoughts about whether Ingatestone or Hatfield Peverel stations are likely to get improved service levels in future, especially at peak times?
HP in particular looks to have quite a poor peak morning service, with trains at 7:02, 7:33 and 7:48 and that’s sort of about it...
For a single (peak time) journey from Romford to Farringdon, what would the PAYG fare be? My understanding is that a single peak journey is £5.10 but the above route involves exiting barriers at Liverpool Street NR Station and then entering barriers at Liverpool Street LU Station to get the tube...
This where better and more detailed communication to passengers would help mitigate the fury seen this morning on GA's Twitter feed. Most comments alluded to the 11-day closure for maintenance only to have a track defect on the first morning back in action. But what was the maintenance being...
Does anyone know whether it's possible to purchase an annual season ticket between Leigh-on-Sea and London Terminals, with an "also available at" Southend Victoria for alternative travel from SOV into London via Shenfield?
It does seem odd given there are quieter stations on the Anglia network that aren't request stops. Presumably there was a period of grace where the drivers would still stop if there was someone on the platform but didn't realise they have to "signal" to stop the train.
Last December Bures station was made a request stop outside of weekday peak times and I found this a bit odd as it has higher passenger usage (62,000) than the only other intermediate station on the line, Chappel & Wakes Colne (37,000). Out of the two, I would have thought the quieter station is...
I think TfL Rail made a bit of a mistake when they rejigged the peak timetable. Historically, in the morning peak, Shenfield starters ran all stations to Ilford then Stratford and Liverpool Street, while Gidea Park starters ran all stations to Liverpool Street. Shenfield starters once they get...
