I tend to agree with the other poster(s) here who are somewhat sceptical of European Sleeper.
On a recent experience with them in the "comfort-plus" sleeping car from Berlin:
- No running water in cabin
- Bins in cabin not emptied from previous night (so cabin smelt of stale food)
- Food mess...
Will miss these when they are gone, but time marches on.
If I recall correctly, the Mark V Sets are one coach shorter. That is going to be noticed on the PRR commuter diagrams which in my (albeit occasional) experience are often full and standing after their last station call southbound in the...
I see there is a 4-day closure of the Met between Harrow and Amersham between 19-22 Feb. Just wondering what work specifically is planned? Will any new signalling be going live? Thanks
Good to hear, but I'll ask the obvious question - how are they planning to do that? 1,800 to 5,000 per hour is a huge increase.
The station is already pretty unpleasant a lot of the time in the queues/waiting areas due to lack of capacity.
No idea what platform occupation time / availability...
Wondering what the impact will be on the Met line or more specifically the Chiltern trains between Marylebone and Aylesbury via Amersham. With both unions out on strike, no train service runs on that route. I'm wondering what the impact is likely to be if RMT staff are working but ASLEF are...
If the issue is available driver shortage, guessing they have prioritised the peaks.
If there is anyone here familiar with the situation (i.e. is it driver shortage?) would be good to know.
Chiltern are operating a reduced service yesterday and today between London and Oxford / "short notice cancellations". Does anybody know the cause of this? Thanks

Maybe I'm old fashioned, but the existing underground line names seem to have at least some connection to where they go without needing a history lesson.
These names seem pretty random and hard to remember which goes where.
Lioness in particular seems vulnerable to it being a trendy name now and...
Hello
In December I visited family in Vienna. We started from London, travelled by Eurostar to Amsterdam, spent a few days there and then intended to travel onward to Vienna by Nightjet. At 3pm on the day we intended to travel from Amsterdam to Vienna I got an SMS message and email informing...
Thanks for the reply. Wouldn't want anyone to break rules/put their jobs at risk. Was just asking as I thought there might be some dates that are public knowledge that I just didn't know.
We are aware of an issue with emails from the Forum to Microsoft-based email accounts (hotmail/outlook/live.com email addresses). This is being looked into currently, thanks for your patience meanwhile.
