RAIL has reported that Europhoenix train licence will be sold to DBI Holdings to allow the company to run its own trains, after buying the remaining Class 60s from DB Cargo UK.
DBI currently uses Colas and GB Railfreight to transport its aggregates.

South isn’t far and neither is town. Given that it was only used in peak hours since 1970, no weekend service and only the bays were used, it wasn’t worth keeping. It was in the way of the fast lines as mentioned but it didn’t serve any purpose that the other stations couldn’t fulfill

Freightliner Facebook group showed a Freightliner Class 70 was working a Dowlow Quarry Flhh to Grimsby Pyewipe Road SB on the 23 January 2026, is this a first such working for a while since September? I know it’s the first Class 70 down there.
I haven’t posted a thread in a while but been wondering how could UK boost its modal share of freight by rail from 8% to reduce carbon omission? Removing HGVs from motorways and on to rail but with capacity a severe issue what ideas or solutions could help increase it from 8%?
