I never had any interest in trains pal and I still don't. That's not to say I don't love the job because I do. There's a massive difference between the 2. Each to their own but trains don't do it for me. It's the job and the lifestyle it gives me and my family.
It's a fantastic job. Best career move I ever made. Great salary, pension, lots of time off, free travel on most TOCs unless the guard is a bell end. All this **** about not having a social life is total rubbish. You can't go out every single weekend I agree but there are plenty when u can...
Not too sure about your position but there's gonna be mass recruitment over the next 18 months from when the franchise takes over in April apparently to cover additional and new services. Watch this space!

All leeds to:
Skipton
Bradford foster square
Ilkley
Manchester Victoria
Selby
Sheffield
Nottingham
Blackpool
Goole
Wakefield
Knottingley/pontefract
Carlisle
York...

For me it was a number of reasons. As a kid I liked trains sure, but being a driver never crossed my mind or anything like that. I had a well paid job before I applied so I wanted to maintain that lifestyle. Why wouldn't i!!! The job also interested me too tho. Although I had no idea what it...
I was in the exact same position for the drivers position. Got the generic email then they contacted me n just sent me for a medical. If your scores are good enough you won't have to do assessments again. Good luck mate
