They haven't bothered to shift the down fast track t the east, so there is no room on railway land for platforms on the Hendons. Plus the West London Alliance of boroughs is expecting funding via the Mayor for the West London Orbital Railway, which would need those platforms to be there.

Ballasted track - v - slab track: Is there a different amount of wear on the rolling stock and the rails? Presumably slab track has a lot less "give", so does it make the track wear out quicker, or destroy train suspension systems quicker?

What is the rough comparative cost of sleepered rails and concrete slab track? Why would have, for instance, much of the "East London Line" Overground rebuild been done in the latter? Presumably the concrete will last for, say, 60 years, so very long term, is it cheaper?

Are there dates when Upminster will control the North London Line past Willesden Junction (how far past?) - and the Dudding Hill Line? Could the latter line stay as it is virtually indefinitely - is resignalling just a "tidy-up" exercise really, and likely to be put off? Thanks.
