Great British Railways - First Train in New Livery

I have no issues with the flag colours, but firstly I would have used an established deign company, like Best Impressions who understand how a livery works. Secondly I think the intercity routes should have a more distinctive premium identity compared to suburban or regional.

EMR to introduce reduced Inter City service from Monday 20th July

Not that Wellingborough will be missing out with its “inter city” fares….

Brighton & Hove / Metrobus Discussion

I have never really liked this livery as the red and cream looked very well designed, plus the former MD said he didn’t like cream, but the moquette looks like something designed for a child's book!

Alexander Dennis future - announcement today

Thanks scosutsut, I wonder if Lothian are not happy MCV body quality.

Alexander Dennis future - announcement today

The Route One news report states 40 double-deck buses (Alexander Dennis/Volvo) for Lothian. Is this a misprint or have ADL agreed to body the Volvo electric chassis?

    Stagecoach Navy Blue Livery

Surely this could have been changed?

    Stagecoach West Scotland

“Fiona said: “This is the start of an exciting chapter for Stagecoach in Scotland – bringing together two really strong OpCos and forming a phenomenal new united OpCo. “We will blend together all the best from both East and West; share ideas and grow together as a united team.” You could not...

Brighton & Hove / Metrobus Discussion

Would be really interested to know the bits that bother you! Myself I thought the red and cream worked much better as a livery in its application and the colours have become associated with Brighton.

    Bus Manufacturer News & Discussion

There seems to be a a lot of independent operators switching from the ADL 200 to heavyweight Volvo B8RLE MCVEvora.

The politics of custom liveries - including those that celebrate diversity etc.

I’m a gay man, but the problem with these so called diversity liveries is that they often look garish and I don’t feel they represent me. They are often designed by artists who may be talented in their own style but do not understand the architecture and lines of a railway carriage or a bus...

    First Group: General Discussion

Giles Fearley’s only claim to fame was to introduce the awful Olympia Livery. I would argue that it was the following regime that allowed more local management and liveries. There was possibly too many of the individual liveries in operating companies such as Leicester pre electric and Sheffield...

Plaxton - ADL missing a trick?

I understand that some of the issues have been with Volvo updating its chassis range and ADL not wanting to invest in updating the bodywork to accommodate it, however the Leopard seemed to sell well. Plaxton spent much of the 2010s bringing to market bespoke models for Stagecoach such as the...

    New Stagecoach bus livery

After the disaster of the 2020 rebrand, Stagecoach should have spent some money and gone to a design agency like Best Impressions or the mhd partnership who both understand the architecture of buses. Like beachball the investment would probably last 20 years. Though it’s a shame to see some of...

    Cambridgeshire Bus Franchising?

The 905 runs into Bedfordshire so how can this come under the franchising scheme?

    Cambridgeshire Bus Franchising?

I would think that Whippet are pleased with the outcome as they have been pushing for franchising for a number of years - probably the only way to increase their market share. Let’s hope that the Dr, sorry Mayor doesn’t implement the Tiger brand as mooted and goes for a more geographical brand.
