If they changed this message to “If you see someone behaving suspiciously at the end of a platform, go and ask if they are alright, they may be having a mental health crisis” they might actually save some lives* *or start a lot of conversations between commuters and trainspotters

The dips in passenger numbers which followed the London terror attacks suggest that quite a lot of people are indeed living in fear of terrorists. Perhaps these messages are actually a cunning way to reduce overcrowding

I don’t think anyone is suggesting it is easy, but if you are going to make perfectly sensible design decisions like maximising the size of the aisle, it is important to follow through with the consequences of that decision, like moving the heating to under the floor.

Funnily enough I find the seats on the 707s comfier. Which is of course ridiculous because they are exactly the same seats. I think it must be some kind of psychosomatic effect caused by the ultra austere colour scheme on the GTR units!

I remember some time ago an amputation at Barnt Green in similar circumstances. I think only platform edge doors would have stopped those, however. Unlikely to be fitted in the near future...

It’s a reasonable sized local hub village with plenty of new houses being built likely to be taken by families with young children (hence buggies) and quite a few older people, so this isn’t an unreasonable request. Although ramps would be more reasonable and I think there is space.
