they were certainly in strong evidence on the Birmingham-Lichfield line, with some 6 car formations seen - are they the only trains to work that line, don't think anything we passed today wasn't a 323.
Due to work, I had to spend a couple of days in Lichfield; travelled from Shrewsbury on LM 170 then swapped to these electrics for the rest of the trip. My initial experience with one (years ago) was quite unpleasant, as it stank inside, but I was impressed by them on that line, they have nice...
There is one currently on ebay at £6.00 with 2 days to go! I am not going to join the bidding, but it'll be interesting to see what it finishes at.
I have decided to give up on trying to get the darn thing now - every possible avenue of opportunity that opens becomes a cul-de-sac!
I just tried the 450 with the cab controls - didn't make any difference, speed gradually crawled up to about 65mph, as when using the interface.
I've never played MSTS, would the 455 work on it?
do you think its because we are supposed to use the cab controls rather than the interface? The Class 86 is useless with that, but runs like a dream with the tap controller?
Wish there were more scenarios for the 455 - thats a beauty to drive! (he says cos he passed all the scenarios!)
I do have the Portsmouth extension but not the 455 - however I experienced exactly the same problem with the Padd-Oxford scenario that came free with AP's Valenta sound pack - twice I tried it and twice got that screen plus the noise that tells you your programmes crashed. Came out of RW and a...
I didn't, actually - and was sitting waiting for a red for quite a bit...though there seemed to be a lot of trains in and out while I was sat there. I'll give it another try.
Just to update - I tried the late night scenario again (think its called end of days?) where you have to drive the 450 through the washer, and this time I managed to pass it - however, tried the saturday shunt again and despite doing everything as instructed, failed it again...I think it said...
speaking of mixing alcohol and train travel....
About 10 or so years ago, when Virgin still operated a working to/from Shrewsbury, my mate and me used to go down and see which 47 it would be (if it turned up) and one night the last train to Aberystwyth went off, and then a few minutes later...
Well said that man! I would certainly be grateful if someone could do this; I wouldn't want for someone to buy a stack of books only not to receive payment, (I'd happily pay in advance) but although I've only been a member on here a short while, have found everyone to be more than helpful when...
