during the first day of passenger operations at Blackpool the first tram of the day to Fleetwood 006 derailed due to sand in the rails. something that you would have thought would be a very large potential problem in Blackpool.

Martin is most definitely right. i know i for one would much rather see Manchester 173 and Rottenstall 23 running but i also enjoy the Blackpool cars to add a bit more variety to the fleet. and as the 3rd generation of volunteers at Heaton park I very much look forward the expansion of the fleet...
supertram would not accept an TfGM igo pass so i had to pay full fare i would like to think metrolink would accept other forms of ID but i dont think they will. I personally think that there should be a national under 16's concessionary pass but hey...
I am 14 and am a volunteer at Heaton park tramway working both on the trams as a trolley boy and doing bits of engineering work to help keep the tramway going. All people involved at the park are volunteers and there are an increasing number of young people getting involved. Feel free to pay us...
im not sure how it stands up to any of the ones already said but the transpeak from nottingham to manchester via buxton. it is not operated by coaches but by a trent barton bus and i think it takes about 3 hours.
