There were all kinds of delusion involved in that plan, from it being easily built in 6 months to claiming touring bands would be happy to play 2 nights there inside of 1 at the current Sheffield arena (due to the smaller capacity). But then "strange" is the standard MO of Sheffield council.

The fact the Sheffield Star has published this information before the event is actually a vast improvement on their usual reporting timescales. Their normal MO is to give you half of the information spread between 500 adverts roughly 2 weeks too late.

It looks like you are using thetrainline, I tried to check some train times for today using that website earlier but loads of services were missing which showed up on the TPexpress & other sites... so its maybe possible thetrainline were having some tech issues resulting in some services not...
