To suggest that the infrastructure is outdated on the WCML is possibly pushing it a bit far. The railways have had huge amounts spent on them, but probably need more. Remodelling at Milton Keynes, & Rugby have made a big difference. There is so much kit out there, so many different organisations...
Does anyone have any idea of how much Network Rail pay in delay costs per min? I guess it probably varies between local and long distance trains but even a ball park would be interesting to know!
The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, is clear that, employers must “so far as is reasonably practicable” protect the health and safety of employees by removing or reducing workplace risks. This also covers visitors, contractors - ie anyone on site.

It would appear that all 4 lines are affected and they are all under possession this morning. That section of OLE is headspan so the wires are not mechanically separated as they would be on a portal system.
All the new electrification west of Airport Jn is portal.
IT's interesting that the reports identifies that the move of SWR control to the ROC has left a greater disconnect within the SWR organisation. I wonder whether this will reduce the interest for TOCs to relocate a small part of their organisation to ROCs?
Does anyone have any information on the earliest dates that Woking, Wimbledon, or Feltham boxes may be relocated? I do realise its a bit of a guess job, but if anyone on the outside has any thoughts it would be useful. Thanks
Can’t answer for that particular service but the ultimate decision rests with the signaller. It’s not unknown for the planning not to work and at a busy station it could be that the incoming move clashes with something else or a late runner. If another platform is free for that period then why...
