I have a similar situation. I am going from London to Dundee on the 30th December on an off - peak return (valid for one month). On the 1st January I want to leave Glasgow and stop off at Manchester on the evening of the 1st and then continue from Manchester to London on the 2nd Jan. Is this...
Yeah, I found it strange too. I have purchased it in London before but never locally. I want it to commence from tomorrow but will be boarding my first train before the ticket office opens which is why I wanted to get it sorted now. Like you say, means I am going to have to make alternative plans.
Good afternoon
I have just been to my local station (shall remain nameless ) attempting to purchase an all line rover starting tomorrow. One of the sales clerks said it was not possible to purchase through him and that it has to be done at a large "hub" station. The other clerk said she...

Whenever possible I go First on IC journeys. I like to enjoy my train journeys without screaming kids, idiots "f"ing and blinding, the constant blaring out of music from people's iPod which should be personal to them, teenage girls talking like "oh my god and I was like, he was like" etc etc...
Cheers guys. My company paid for a standard open return for me. Travelled up on Thursday peak time and back today. Somebody mentioned that STD anytime would be valid in first today. Just wanted to check before I went in there and sat down. Will it entitle me to a coffee too?
A great one I saw the other day was on a Southern train from London to Lewes. The guard came round doing a ticket check on what was a busy train. He asked a chap for his ticket and informed him he was in the incorrect portion of the train for Worthing. This chap then said "I know I am - there...
Whilst clearly it is frustrating for passengers involved in such circumstances - unless a matter of life or death I think it's totally unacceptable for them to de-train themselves! Clearly, they cannot be stopped from doing so but only be offered suitable advice not to. They seem to have no idea...
