I need some help child ticket

Failure to provide your name and address on request to an authorised officer of the railway is a bylaw offence under the railway bylaws. The staff members who stopped you for your child ticket were authorised officers of the railway. It is a further offence to give false details. If the police...

TOC refusing to update me on outcome of complaint about member of staff.

Are you able to identify the TOC? We may be able to give a general idea of how these things go if we knew which TOCs processes were involved.

Using the SOS Alarm when overcarried?

It's not always entirely accurate either. I've worked trains which have followed the correct booked calling pattern and stopped at all stations, And later checked real time trains to see that some stations were shown as "not stopping" when we had in fact stopped as normal. Like any information...

Notice of Intention to Prosecute Received

Indeed. However, if Balcombe is a quiet station... And the officer was already working through the carriage... And noted no person entering or leaving that carriage at Balcombe... Then it's an easy statement to make to the court with confidence.

Notice of Intention to Prosecute Received

It's six minutes from three bridges to balcombe. You state that you bought the second ticket whilst in between these two stations. You also state that you were inspected "at or near" Balcombe. If you were inspected after Balcombe, an offence is hard to prove, because at the time of the...

    Refund from TFW

Try contacting them on their WhatsApp portal. My experience is that the guys who answer the WhatsApp manage to sort things out pretty quickly. They're really good. I would recommend it! 07790952507

Avanti take needless announcements to a new level

This. Exactly this. Walking through several carriages on a HST with your coffee and microwaved burger from the buffet was so easy, as the doors opened as you approach them. Why we have to go backwards and insist upon manual door open buttons - which are arguably a retrograde step, especially...

    Ticket Wallets

PRTs fit very well inside the standard wallet - the two facing pockets are used, one end of the PRT in each. Works very well - I still issue a large number of PRT seasons to passengers on board and the 3 part wallet protects them well and allows easy scanning of the Aztec code.

    Travel incident report

That's ridiculous, and untrue. There is detailed guidance, and there is certainly no blanket ruling. I should point out that this would not have been a guard - no guard is going to issue a TIR for non collection of tickets. You mentioned that you asked another member of train crew about your...

    West Yorkshire Family Day Saver

As long as there is a minimum of one adult in the party, the ticket will be valid. Don't forget an adult counts as somebody age 16 or over. You could therefore have five people age between 16 and 19, two of whom are travelling as adults, and three of whom are using their West Yorkshire under 19...

Off-peak ticket used during peak time

I must ask : you purchased your ticket at 08:50. You bought an off peak day return, and applied your 16-25 Railcard discount. The off peak day return is not valid until 09:30. You cannot use your Railcard on anytime, or off peak tickets before 10:00am, Monday to Friday, unless the tickets...

    Railway Bridge Adverts.

Indeed. This has recently appeared on the end of a terrace in Leeds. I think it's rather good, and improves the area, rather than indicating decay.

Passengers told to disembark due skipping stops but train then called?

They passed each other between Manchester Victoria and Miles Platting, easily done with the 4 track layout. By Miles Platting the Chester-Leeds was in front of the Wigan-Leeds 1756462428 I'll disagree with you there, respectfully. Even if the announcement wasn't made until the train was on the...

Passengers told to disembark due skipping stops but train then called?

I'm not disagreeing with you, and yes, it is information overload which a lot of people cannot process, especially when they're already suddenly becoming concerned that the train that they are on is no longer calling at the stations they wanted to go to. However, it takes seconds to announce...
