Passed through Manchester Victoria today, they have changed the departure screens on the concourse from the 1 train per screen layout to the Piccadilly style, 'Next Fastest Train To'. Also looks like they are now using the Northern Rail digital screens, not the Infotec LED ones that were there...

Apologies if this has been covered elswhere - this has been announced today that the Penistone line will recieve £48m in upgrades to improve journey times and double the current service from hourly to half houry. As a frequent user of the line, I'd be interested see how the service increase...

Work at Shepley has begun, I think it is due to be completed mid Feb. I'll try get a photo but both platforms look very similar to the photo of Honley in terms of progress.

It has been posted in the TransPennine Upgrade thread that platform 2 at Huddersfield has been extended over Christmas. Does anyone have any photos of this?

I believe this is part of the Trans Pennine Upgrade programme as Huddersfield station will be remodelled.

Are the screens smaller than the old ones? I think they look that way in the photo but I haven't seen them for myself yet.

Interestingly, the car park at Wakefield Westgate station does this, but only on Saturdays and Sundays. The all day Mon-Fri tariff is £11 for up to 24 hours, where as on a weekend its £5 per day (up until 4.29am the next day).

Will there be any additional diagrams running by the end of August? I know services to York will be starting in August but does this mean that all of the Leeds diagrams will have switched over?

As Stocksmoor and Denby Dale aren't due to receive extensions, I assume the platforms are already long enough for the stock that is coming to the line?

My local station has just become a Penalty Fares station with Northern requiring you to print out a Promise to Pay notice from the TVM. On my last visit a couple of days ago, I couldn't find the promise to pay notice on the ticket machine so had to pay by card. Has anyone else had any similar...
