Think the 231s are well suited on the Barry Island runs...considering the 1849 run to Caerphilly last night was a wedgex...just as well a 150 wasn't on that turn!

I had an email yesterday inviting me to an assessment day on the 4th June but unfortunately I can’t make it so will be emailing them so they know first thing Monday morning. Hopefully the next one doesn’t coincide with my holidays!

Given I pass the group assessment and interview…anyone know the average wait time in the talent pool? I’m waiting for the “how long is a piece of string comment” but last I heard they are pushing people through quite quickly.

When I went for Driver Assessments in Cardiff you'd be surprised what some people wore! One guy rocked up in Joggers! I'd say just a polo shirt and smart trousers or if you want to go all out wear shirt and tie! I'm the same. One ear is worse than the other. Said I have hearing of a 40-50 year...

What does the assessment day consist of? Team building exercises etc?

Something different than scenarios and quick drives....some before and afters....still heavily WIP. The photos below are only small bits. Not fully finished but work around CDQ. A lot of clutter added to the stations and surrounding area

Did a medical for a job at DB last year and just scraped by because of my hearing. Hopefully it doesn’t get much worse!

I’ll stay hopeful then! Exams completed in May 2021 then moved from Gloucester to Cardiff talent pool in June 2022

Just got an invitation for the RAAT, SCAAT down…RAAT and TCT left to go!

I was told by GWR they ran out after 2! Might have to email them again to see if I'm still in the Cardiff Talent Pool then! :lol:

Thought the maximum time in the Pool was 2 years? Due to assessments running out?! Or have you been waiting 4 years to get onto the railway? Well done nonetheless!
