Persecution of trainspotters

We have all experienced it. Whether we have been told by staff that spotting is somehow illegal, or having our equipment confiscated by bumbling security guards. It seems staff at some railway stations have a vendetta against us... but is that true, or are they just misinformed? Do they think...
