    GB Railfreight Train Manager Crewe

It doesn't, but nearby depot of Tuebrook does and will likely be shedding jobs so a possible side ways movement for somebody there.

Stations with "Train Approaching" bells (Trivia)

On a similar theme, Warrington Bank Quay always has a 'this train does not stop here' announcement which appears to trigger automatically when a freight or non stopping train approaches. I've never noticed one at other stations although it's probably quite common and I've never noticed.

    Bridges hit by a boat

The cargo ship Arklow Fame collided with one of the abutments of Irlam viaduct where the CLC crosses the Manchester ship canal in 2007. Although i can’t find any photo’s of this. The bow of the ship came off worse. If you drive past on the A57 you can still see where the brickwork has been...

Rail Freight Flows and News UK

FL should have saved any confusion and just used Ditton Foundry Lane FLT rather than Widnes Freight Terminal. Although the latter sounds a bit more modern and upmarket! The old location used by EWS / DB had AHC in the name which is the only defunct bit as it is still foundry lane sidings. I...

GBRf Class 99 - 30 locomotives now ordered

I don't see a need to stop either, but i thought electric locomotives weren't allowed to do it on the move? The CL 93 trial earlier this year wasn't. It had to stop between St Helens and Garswood.

GBRf Class 99 - 30 locomotives now ordered

It will have to stop to put the pan up somewhere. Possibly during it's stop at Eccles loop? It has 1 min at Olive Mount, which it could possibly do there once it's on the mainline. Although i haven't looked at the rest of the timetabled services to see if there would be enough margin to do that.

I replied to your post on FB. Sorry to quash your optimism. But all the plant work down at Seaforth has nothing to do with this. This is just the road surface being replaced and drainage work. The crossing at the end of the railhead is also being upgraded and generally tidied up. The plan to...

    ‘Plunger’ button.

On a similar theme, and not too far from the original post. Ashburys sidings has a plunger on the old shunters cabin which allows the signaller to clear the route into the stone terminal when a train arrives via Phillips Park jnc.
