    Barrow-in-Furness avoid line (Park South)

It would be madness not to serve Barrow. It's the biggest town for quite a long way.

Freight derailment near Salthouse Jn (Barrow-in-Furness) - 16/09/13

From what I saw today the loco wasn't derailed (or had been rerailed) and the container wagons were derailed and sat on the trap points on the branch to the docks. There were a few police cars scattered around and the line seems to be pilot worked from Dalton Junction to Barrow station.

Where passenger numbers have risen but services have been cut back

Barrow-in-Furness will be down to 5 Tpe services a day from next year (I think) from around 9

    Your railway in 10 years?

Cumbria coast line/Furness line - Trains will run later between Millom and Whitehaven due to the elimination of a few signalboxes, and there will be no TPE service from Barrow.

    Level crossing/foot crossing stations

Askam station is level crossing only, as is Foxfield and probably a few others on the Cumbrian coast line.

Person hit by train between Silecroft and Millom

I wonder where it happened? Between Millom and Silecroft, or just north of Foxfield?

Person hit by train between Silecroft and Millom

Buses are replacing trains between Barrow and Sellafield. It's been a bad week for collisions.

    Lowest Bridge?

There is one by Flimby that is around 4 foot, but of course this is pedestrian only.

    I wasted £8 today

I wasted about £20 in Tesco today because I could have walked out without paying.

Free travel for police officers on Northern

I suppose if they refused to pay you would have to ask them to arrest themselves :p

Cumbria landslide: Sellafield Worker Train Derails 30/08/12

Most of us locals call it the workers train too, so that's probably where the beeb got it from.

    Android phone app

There is an official National rail enquiries one that is quite good, can't book tickets with it though. If you want to book tickets tpe/virgin/xc all have free apps, plus i'm sure others do too.

    Cumbrian Coast Line

The pacer just got dragged back to Barrow from Lancaster with a fault, they tagged it to the back of a 153.
