Usually what happens is that they advertise internally first. If they don’t hire internally as no one suitable/passes tests or an interview, they then advertise externally.
Na, I see where you’re coming from but I know it’s not always the case where females get the roles. Best people usually get them over the course of the application. And I’m not a driver but have applied many a time, nothing but rejection unfortunately.
It could be many things, yes train operators seem to be more diverse these days but we don’t know how many have been declined. There will likely be thousands of applicants and we’ve heard from a fraction. There will be some that have got through and would be wrong to think it’s just diversity.
It could be many things. Age, general application, life experience. You’ve got time on your hands though. Get a job, get some life experience behind you and try again.
