yeah I know all about the on call and 5 days etc, most of the managers at my depot only seem to work Monday to Friday. I completely expect a drop in pay, but that doesn't really bother me to be honest. I just wondered how much the drop would be.
Having run my own business in the past and...
Just out of interest,
What are the pay scales like for a driver line manager, especially GTR. Im currently a driver and enjoy the actual driving, but looking at maybe dropping out of the shift work.
Just weighing up my options and cant find any information online,
Thanks
it can do, my understanding its just arranging it with the relevant parties and getting the correct paper work filled out. I never got passed the trying to find someone to agree the swap with in the first place lol im pretty sure the paper needs to be done weekly at ours though.
no there are differences,
vic and Selhurst top links the work seems similar, London to brighton mainline, Horsham etc.
in the lower links like myself at Selhurst its all metro, I cover
bridge, vic to
Epsom/sidings
Epsom downs
sutton
tattenham corner
Caterham
selhurt depot
Streatham hill...
im Selhurst, it seems to be just a case of going through the roster, finding who is on the same pattern but opposite times and just asking. It also seems that this cannot be changed at a management level and a change of shift request form has to be completed for every week.
saying that due to...
im fairly new (around 2 years passed) and I am based at a very busy undesirable location in south London, its not where I was meant to start, but the company moved me just before my start date. I have been trying to move ever since.
the depot I wanted is a few hundred meters from my home, and...
Im currently a driver at Southern,
I was thinking of trying to move over to Gat ex, but was curious about the shift times and getting to and from Vic.
if there are any Gat ex drivers here, would you mind answering some of my Qs?
many thanks

This sounds like the young woman at Sanderstead. She pulled her kid down right at the last min. I wasn't on the railway then but owned a local business. Was horrific.
I still curl my toes when going through fast in certain hot spots.
Hiya. Have been thinking of moving down to Exeter or Par. Just looking at all avenues. I'm a fairly new driver at Selhurst so all metro work. Starting at all. Kinds of times. But we don't have a night shift. What are the shifts and routes like for a new driver down that way. Is there a minimum...
Currenlty looking to move out of London and considering all areas from the south coast to west country.
Can people please shed some light for me on what the shifts are like. Times etc. Are there nights at places like Exeter? What are the routes like.
Many thanks
