I’ve noticed that some of the pop validators have new wireless plates that have the contactless payment symbol on them. Is contactless PAYG finally coming?
The other problem with how the complete platform tunnel was opened up at Haymarket was that it made keeping those white panels clean really difficult. The platform tunnel ceiling, especially around the OHLE is really grubby looking these days.

It’s definitely possible to keep those...
The “closeness” of the seats is regularly mentioned but they feel more or less the same as you’d get on a bus. Perhaps the old seats were just overly generous!
Anyone know what’s going on with train reliability at the moment? There’s been unit failures/withdrawals every day this week. Is it new or old stock causing issues?
Pop app warning of major delays due to "a number of failed trains" this morning. Any idea what's going on? The 555s aren't going the way of the 777s I hope :(
Does anyone know what tunnels were used in last night’s episode of The Capture on BBC (S3E5). They looked railway-related given the size and shape but I don’t think I’ve seen them used on TV before. Thanks.
Have Stadler stopped doing any kind of cleaning on the 599s? On the odd occasion I’ve had one over the last couple of weeks they’ve been filthy inside and out.
That's fine, I'm happy with speculation! :D We know how many 555s there are (or will be) and we know how many trains can fit through the centre so it should be possible to work out?

Does anyone know, theoretically, with a full fleet of 555s what the timings through the central core could be? Would 5 minute headways be possible?
Actually closer to Manors, but I suspect that’ll be a less popular option!

Anecdotal: a coworker who lives in Monkseaton and works in Newcastle now drives to Seaton Delaval and takes the train to Central, rather than take the metro.
