    They replaced Cross Country services, not GWR ones. GWR only run 3 trains a day from Oxford to Banbury in each direction on Sunday, which they did yesterday as usual.

    Another cheeky one is Carnforth - not only the west coat mainline's unused platforms are electrified but also the the line to Barrow is through the station.

    I assumed it needed to be a route actually done by a passenger train in scheduled service, hence not going to Basingstoke, plus forgot about Bond Street having a delayed opening (although you could argue that Paddington's Elizabeth line station is separate and thus opened the same day as TCR)...

    Termini that are much quieter than a nearby station

    It still is on Sundays, plus a limited number of morning/evening trains on weekdays. Tenby gets quite significantly more passengers than all five stations beyond it put together.

    One strange curiosity: 2023/24 Hoscar had 800 entries/exits. So did Berney Arms 2024/25 Hoscar had 802 entries/exits. So did Berney Arms. I wonder if any pair of (in use) stations have ever had the same number of passengers for two consecutive years before.

    On the Reading-Taunton line, every station in use is over 100 years old... but: - Newbury Racecourse, despite opening in 1905, got regular services for the first time in the 1990s - Wootton Rivers Halt opened in 1928, less than 100 years ago, but closed again in 1966 Does this count or not?
