Availability can be very strange on these Euronight services. On the date you're looking at the Stuttgart to Budapest portion of the same train is on sale, but not the Zagreb portion. I have also known occasions where inevitable intermediate stations are not on sale but terminals are. Other than...
3 versus 4 was an example, without seeing XC's contingency plans we might be talking about 118 versus 119. In any case the decision about whether to spend that money will have ultimately been driven by a decision by cost.
Nothing to do with XC. Unless you think they rang the relevant Network Rail controller and said, oh yes this train will start at Par but we don't know why?
Do you really think that XC employees are doing anything different based on what happened mere hours ago. its highly unlikely that any...
Added thanks!
Taking passengers to Crewe for connections to Manchester would seem to make sense. Stoke isn't really set up for terminating trains from the south, and Crewe has not only much more flexibility in layout but also much better connections towards Manchester for passengers.
Ignoring the reasons why, see this thread: https://www.railforums.co.uk/threads/all-cross-country-services-suspended-23-08-26.306275/
I thought it might be useful and interesting to see what other operators were able to achieve to support CrossCountry passengers. Working through the thread I...
If you want a refund this has nothing to do with CrossCountry's Delay Repay processing?

So responding to passenger feedback via the NPS is pathetic. Oh interesting.
Who are these 'self serving operators that are not OA'? Oh yes GBR, so you're saying something that GBR could usefully do its take the decision out of its own hands and give it to???
How are you making this work?
GBR East Coast stations will be LNER Station Management team (11 is it station teams?) + Network Rail East Coast Major Stations (1 = Kings Cross).
Who are you giving the 'smaller ones' to?
I'm not close enough to local circumstances to comment in some ways, Stocksbridge may well be better as a tram extension. What I am clear about is that another section of tram train running with 750v DC electrification is exactly what is not needed, and that ideally if either Barrow Hill and/or...
Yes there are definitely some short term fixes that could be pursued, but I would not be surprised to see the theoretical capacity freed up being rapidly filled with new services (see Lumo via Retford for one example!)
Theres a large scale project needed, which probably starts with a new...
The whole thing is a house of cards of course, the paths are relatively fixed by the passing of trains on the single line sections, which lead to the times the paths arrive and depart Sheffield, so adding a longer turnaround time either means interworking the service with other service groups...
Of course everyone knows that the real alternative capital, in the North, is York, as was elequantly pointed out in the second city's press recently:
