That means the Hull Card weekly ticket valid on both EY and Stagecoach is now 20p than the EY only weekly, with the same validity area. Bonkers.

I wonder how much EY’s standard of routine maintenance is a factor….the E400 MMC’s on the X46/47 are only a few years old and it’s not uncommon to see one broken down.

You’re referring to the Bridlington service that runs between the Leisure Centre and Sewerby Park which is next to Sewerby Cricket Ground. Incidentally, the South Beach service in Bridlington only runs as far as the Spa, not the Leisure Centre.

You can buy some tickets (eg the multi-operator ‘Hull Card’ which ironically is issued on a Stagecoach smart card if you want it that way) at the East Yorkshire travel centre in Hull Paragon Interchange.

The map on the Moorsbus website says the M1 goes via Driffield, which the ME1 didn’t. Looks like the M1 is a full Moorsbus route too unlike the ME1 so Moorsbus day tickets will presumably now be valid from end to end.

The air quality argument is marginal at best given the relatively small number of vehicles in question when compared to overall road vehicles in an urban area. Perhaps enhancing the bus network or reducing fares to make the bus more attractive would have a greater impact by encouraging modal switch.

So that’s still a direct benefit for a private company to replace an asset they’d have to replace themselves anyway.

Why is the taxpayer buying new vehicles for private companies? I’d rather the money was spent on route or fare subsidy.

Significant fare rises in Hull today despite not a single mention of it on the Stagecoach website - what a shock! My return fare to Beverley for work has gone up a whopping 35% from £4 to £5.40, so I’ll be back in the car again from Monday.

Surely if your disability was so severe that you were unable to manage a bank account or contactless card, you’d have a free disabled bus pass which would make your whole argument void. Plenty of business are now cash only as it reduces overheads and is safer by reducing the risk of theft.

They really aren’t bad value, especially if you buy the flexi-5 bundle and save 20%. Travel right across the East Mids area from Hull to the bottom of Lincolnshire for the price really isn’t bad. By comparison, a network wide day ticket with East Yorkshire will set you back £17.20
