I would also add it is a very different environment compared to customer facing roles and a different skill set.

This is probably your biggest hurdle which you need to concentrate on. Until you pass these then the "secret shopper" or Area Manager won't have much influence. I know a few people gone from agency to GTR. Keep applying.

When do you start your training? Did you find out recently? I'm still waiting for a start date. Hopefully it will be soon.

I can't comment on Virgin or Northern but for some other TOC's it is AM or PM Peak working. Usually 4/5 hour shifts over 5 days, Mon - Fri. There could also be local agreements in place which means it could be anytime. It's going to be for the busiest periods as you will provide extra support.

I am also the same. I'm hoping it's not long until there are new training courses. I have a feeling it wont be until the start of next year though.
