Could I suggest a slightly simpler route : as above but to West Drayton. Then bus 350 to T5 departs from outside the station ( timetable : http://www.londonbusroutes.net/times/350.htm ) about every 12 - 20 minutes depending on time of day. Journey time 15 minutes door to door.
BTW its £41.85...
I seem to remember that FGW ran Greenford - Hayes & Harlington (bay platform) some years ago during infrastructure work or was it longterm disruption (not sure). I know there was general surprise at the high loads from the branch to Southall & Hayes and vv.
The bay at West Ealing is long...
The Daily Telegraph published a book last year (2009) as a guide to commuterland -available for about a tenner from the large internet book people. Gives house prices, season ticket costs, what the locality, schools etc are like.

Todays Irish Times reveals that the Rosslare to Waterford line is to close on 21st July 2010. The line cost 4 million euro to run each year but generates just 40,000 euro. Recent legislation means the line is 'safe-guarded' for at least 10 years. Irish Rail is to "explore the possibility of...
Thanks for the info Greenback - I imagine lots of families heading back to UK at the end of the school holidays. I need to make a decision Wed/Thur. Any helpful info very much appreciated.
Would anyone happen to know the train situation at Fishguard. I may have to route back to London that way later this week as a foot passenger. I know Stena and Irish ferries are full to bursting.
Sensible thing would be for FGW to 'assist' Arriva Wales and extend a Swansea service HST to...
Irish Rail have confirmed the closure. If it really does go ahead this is a line ripe to be taken over by a preservation group and run as a going concern, especially if access rights could be gained to Rosslare Strand & Harbour and Waterford Stations. Daily appropriately timed services using...

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/7826714.stm
It featured quite heavily on the BBC London TV news that day.
However, one more bit of gossip to throw into the fire regards the move of the US embassy. An awful...
FGW stations have had working Oyster machines for a while now and have thus been accepting Pay-As-You-Go Oyster cards. You do sometimes have to know where they are - West Drayton's are at the bottom of the stairs on the far side of the subway.
Sorry just realised you meant the Ticket Vending...

There is a large CTZ (Controlled Traffic Zone) thrown round Twickenham on match days. London Buses operate truncated routes and/or terminate early. A few are diverted. All the local bus stop timetables are marked accordingly. Even the local Tesco superstore is closed on match days.
Local...
