I choose to have a nice relaxed journey with a choice of seat on the 0704 stopper from Hitchin rather than wait for a busy 0711 which gets to Finsbury Park before the stopper. Although I’ve not caught it I think the 0726 Brighton service might be quieter but more liable to cancellation.

When I arrived at Hitchin the 1626 to Brighton was announced as cancelled due to overhead wire problems!

I was monitoring my 1554 FPK to HIT and noted it left Horsham 7 minutes late but as a result skip stopped between Gatwick Airport (where it departed 6 minutes late) and East Croydon. That seems quite ridiculous that a 6-7 minute late run causes this. It generally sits at FPK for 4 mins!

That is a bit concerning. In theory Hitchin is to have a turn up and go service every 15 minutes from Finsbury Park. On a weekday there is now a 49 minute arrival gap from 1619 to 1708. The 1601 stopper is missing as is the 1624 fast. I assume at some stage there would also be a 1612 to...

A 700 went through Hitchin at 0704 ECS so maybe that was meant to form the 0802 from WGC.

On the screen at Hitchin they are indicating “Delays from 1400 due to thundery showers.” Blame the weather for delays in advance!
