The level crossings in Dereham were equipped with stainless steel zig zag welds on the rail head until the mid norfolk railway removed them a year ago. The line only saw 1 train a month in the late 80s.

A Mk2 BSO Arrived at Yarmouth Carriage Sidings a couple of weeks ago, following a period of storage on the Mid Norfolk Railway.

The thought of mk2s being stored there is a nice one, as its nice to see sidings that were desolate for years finally being used again. I heard through the pipeline it's something to do with eastern rail services and the mid norfolk. Whatever it is it's good to see.

Rumour has it that apparently some mk2 coaches are going to be stationed here as well? I wonder if one of the reasons for these coaches being kept in reserve here is in case the new trains fail and GA should need to borrow them back in an emergency?

The track layout at Reedham was rationalised to a basic layout, and both of the disused sidings have been taken up, this was done in October. I see they have taken up a large part of the old yard at Lowestoft, and it looks like the remaining sidings leading to the main road (the old docks line)...

Just a point that I feel should be reflected - The Railways Are Nationalised. They are owned and maintained by Network Rail, Which is, or was when I last looked, an arms length public body. What they do not do is the undertaking of Railway Services. That is done by private companies.
