Locomotive Service Limited tour of the South West: Saturday 2rd April to Wednesday 7th April

I will be travelling from Yate to Gloucester to see this tomorrow, the above comment from father_jack concerns me though. Is 45231 out of action then?

Does anyone know what this is likely to be? http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/U69851/2019/04/17/advanced I'm especially interested if it will run to Tytherington or not.

Tytherington Quarry; freight line to reopen?

Thanks for that. According to "realtimetrains" there is to be another locomotive heading down to Tytherington tomorrow morning. I wonder if anybody got any pictures or video? I was at work, absolutely gutted to have missed it.

Surprised nobody has mentioned the delightful St Mary's crossing in Gloucestershire.....

Tytherington Quarry; freight line to reopen?

Hi tgrubb. Do you have any photos of the works, or a copy of the letter at all? I do find this very odd that they would do the works at night, especially during the engineering blockade at Filton Bank - you would have thought it was all hands on deck with that project. That is great news, do...

I took a wander to Filton Abbey Wood station and Constable Road overbridge today, sorry about the picture quality.

Luxury cars crushed as transporter hits low bridge in Perth (24/10)

The company I work for have a fleet of around 6000 vehicles, they are all insured third party only. The excess for each and every claim is £100,000. So a bridge strike like this would cost the firm £100,000 with the insurers picking up the rest of the bill.

I wasn't aware of that, apologies. I shall do in future, I'll try and get some pictures myself over the next few weeks too.

Tytherington Quarry; freight line to reopen?

Hi Dungey140, Thanks for the update regarding machinery on the line. Strange that they would do it at night on a disused line? I live in Thornbury and have been watching their on going works for the last couple of years, I noticed both the Iron Acton Bypass and Latteridge level crossings have...

More progress, quite surprised how many of the Orange Army are on this project! Can somebody tell me, during the upcoming 18th June - 8th July blockade will trains be diverted via The Severn Beach / Henbury Loop lines? (Such as they were in 2004).

Suggest a Railway Preservation project to receive £500

I wish to nominate The Vale Of Berkeley Railway, specifically the signal box appeal. http://valeofberkeleyrailway.co.uk/2016/07/20/home-page-pane/ There are some big names behind this project and they have Network Rails ear. If you wish two save these two wonderful signal boxes then VOBR...
