I have to say I echo many of the sentiments on here. 14 years in and I have an assessment for a conductor this week. I'm a county officer and they are leaving in their droves. I'm really looking forward to a new chapter though and Im pretty confident that most of the skills are transferable.

I have my phone interview next week. Any hints or tips to pass on? Also are most assessment centres held in Bristol or do they have another training/assessment centre?

I'm looking to leave the police after 14 years in and I agree it is definitely not what it used to be. Promotion is quite a fight in our force and at the moment and many are going for just a couple of postings. These postings can be anywhere in the force. For what it's worth it would consider...
