With the new crematorium at Oldcraighall, I foresee fewer funerals at Seafield for East Lothian. But what is needed is a bus service from East Lothian to Oldcraighall - possibly via Shawfair to RIE

Not surprising with the half marathon taking place. It was running 45 minutes late because of shuttle bus chaos. Then not helped by Port Seton being log jammed by people expecting to get through to the A1 at 11.25..... delayed until 12.40. Traffic backed up in all directions - even on to the A1...

Back to the 26 route parking at Seton Sands - Friday - 3 buses parked in a line at the camp bus stand, 1 200 metres up the road on its way to the city and another waiting on the coast road at the turn off to turn into the camp - just no space left!. 5 buses all within a minute of each other...

I still don't understand why so many No 26s in East Lothian. Yesterday, 1 heading towards Musselburgh at Prestonpans Lidl (I'd already passed one at Inchview, Prestonpans - again Muselburgh bound). Next one was stopped at the toilets at Port Seton - heading to Musselburgh, and 2 parked up at...

What is happening on the 26 route just now - Friday afternoon - 3 buses parked up at Seton Sands, one just left (at Cockenzie Harbour) and another heading for Seton Sands at Lidls Prestonpans. Seems a regular event now with 2 buses parked up at Seton Sands. Maybe they could have rerouted them...

Surprised that they don't store Dunbar routes at Eve's, since its all Lothian now.

If the government wants to see how best to run a local bus company, then they should follow Lothian Bus' example - it's why they're voted among the top players in the UK.

Eves also have school contract for Preston Lodge > Port Seton. They usually use their 100 seater, and three coaches. We used them regularly to take coach loads of OAPs out for day or afternoon trips. Always found Gary Scougall (the owner) very helpful and his drivers were superb very patient...

I notice that the Bus Map at Asda at The Jewel still shows the No 4 serving and terminating there

I don't ont know why they don't use the park and ride at Newcraighall Fire Station as the terminus. It would be a good alternative to the train to get into town and a lot more convenient for East Lothian drivers.

I wonder how much quicker services could be (and the impact on congestion) if they brought back conductors?

Just to add to recent "accidents" - the 10.30 ish X5 to Edinburgh last friday (10th) drove into the bus shelter at St Germains Level Crossing and took out his wing mirror. Passengers none too happy, as they had to wait for the next 124 and were quite late getting into town. Driver almost got...
