I am tempted to go down that route but it would probably cost me more than an out of court settlement would. If they think I'm not telling the truth would they consider an out of court settlement since it is my first "offence" or would they try their hardest...

The fine is fair enough and I wouldn't expect any less should I have been caught on the train itself...the admin fee too. I don't however feel taking people to court out of inaccuracies is necessarily the route to go down. I just hope...
