What functions cannot be performed by Ticket Vending Machines, and why?

I agree. I agree. Using a website (which may be familiar already) will reduce complexity as there is much more focus on the user experience (versus TVMs). If customers spend thirty more seconds ensuring they purchase the right ticket for them then how is this a negative? TVM usage will...

Arriva Sold to I Squared by DB

You also have the two London to Oxford routes run by Chiltern and GWR. Most Arriva UK TOCs are profitable, Grand Central had a rough time through Covid but is in a solid recovery position. European rail operations profitability varies by country. The Arriva bus business is a different story...

    New Paddington ticket office

Smartwalls are the next evolution in ticket machines. They have a much larger screen (typically 42 inch) than traditional TVMs and offer more information and third-party selling opportunities. Currently Worldline have three smartwalls at Oxford Parkway and Parkeon have one at Harrogate and one...

    New Paddington ticket office

The new ticket office at Paddington opens on Monday (April 18th). It is a beautiful new retail space, anyone who visited the old ticket office at Paddington will be wowed by the amount of natural light in the new place. Six Worldline smartwalls, no glass at the counters and a high quality...

WCRC banned from running trains on the mainline from 18th Feb 2016 now rescinded

The incident at Wooten Bassett sounds serious. SPAD followed by parking themselves across a busy junction, missing another train by only a minute. Seems like the culture at the business is the bigger problem.
