According to post #4091 above GWR are taking all 22 remaining Class 158s.
Meanwhile, GWR have issued a stakeholder update re the 175s. I can't elaborate because without access to the source material I'd be in breach of forum roles merely pasting the quote with no link here. Hopefully someone...
Maybe if some forum members did a bit of travelling around Europe they'd realise what an insult the IET seats (and ride quality) are. We always seem to be all too ready to accept mediocrity in this country with everything.
Depends which suppliers they all go with. If they all go for the same supplier I imagine that could present issues, but there's all the usual suspects in the bidding.
I can't see any TOC going, "we're not going to bother ordering now in case someone else chooses the same supplier and delays...
GWR doesn't have any spare stock end of!

I wonder how the 19 has done. Most times I've looked on Bustimes.org everything has been running 30-45 min late. A symptom of too tight running time, too long a route through too many summer traffic blackspots and insufficient recovery time. Can't...
Even with everything allocated as it should be Reading/Weybridge services are still roughly 3 x 450 for every 4 x 701. Depending on what time of day and where you'll often see either all 450s or all 701s on Reading services.
SWR has long been a relative island of sanity in the Yellow Line...
That must have been some fire given that Reading services were diverted via Weybridge for the rest of the day. The last arrival at Reading didn't reach there until 02:04!
I imagine there's been a fair bit of rolling stock displacement.
