    Great Northern Weekend Cancellations

As for the 387s, yeah, the ride quality on electrostars is grim, but at least they aren’t 755s: ride them once, see a chiropractor for life.

So no possibility of having a discussion about our lord and saviour, rear first, then?

I guess they aren’t going to St Pancras

It's much less well known on the ECML Thameslink services, so there's pretty much always space IME.

Indeed. The only way to travel.

If I can, I avoid the CBG-KGX services completely now. I always try to catch the CBG-BTN services, even if I'm just going to London. The Great Northern trains are cattle trucks. The 700/1s have a better ride, go to central London, and you can always get plenty of space.

    Is this train unique?

The Cambridge to London train which is regarded as the slow if you live in Cambridge is regarded as the fast if you live in Welwyn.

Weather Disruption caused by storm Ciara (February 9th, 10th and 11th)

61 knot gusts forecast here in East Anglia. That’s very nearly hurricane force.

Weather Disruption caused by storm Ciara (February 9th, 10th and 11th)

storm force 10 gusting violent storm force 11. Coastal communities are used to this but it’s going to be country wide. It will bring trees down and damage property. I took all the sails off my boat today. This is not an overreaction.

    May 2020 timetable changes

Ah, they’re going through the quarry like the other CBG services? Yeah, I can see how that might irritate. I wouldn’t mind a slightly slower service that still called at Redhill etc if it’s saving me the London Bridge change. I’m comfy in rear first with my thermos and laptop.

Thank goodness for that. I do BTN-CBG a lot on Sundays and having to take a Bedford service, overtake the Cambridge service in the quarry, then pick it up at London Bridge is irritating.

They have the rolling stock. They just can't be arsed.

    Thameslink/ Class 700 Progress

Like soldiers breaking step to march over a bridge? Interesting! Thanks.
