I know that the Voyagers use GSM to download calling patterns and seat reservations.

Lothian Group discussion (Lothian City, Lothian Country Bus and East Coast Buses)

Anyone hazard a guess which buses will go when the new fleet starts to arrive? I'm assuming the B8's for LC and ECB will cascade B5tls newer back to city? Are the LXZ batch to go before the 11 batch of B9tls?

    McGill's Buses - Renfrewshire & Inverclyde

Yeah. They're fairly reliable as well. Once you leave Govan you're in town in less than 10 mins. Plus McGills for £3.80 all day ticket. I know McGills get some flack but I dont have any complaints. The fastlink bus lanes are great. Mcgills buses are better looked after than FirstBus...

    McGill's Buses - Renfrewshire & Inverclyde

I wish the 26 ran later and earlier especially on a Sunday. I live in Govan and it's a good service into Town

    First Greater Glasgow

Is it hard surprising - the constant breakdowns, the state of the fleet. FirstBus's maintenance is always so bad. They run the fleet into ground until its ready for scrap. Look at Lothian Buses thats how you run a bus company. They have zero pride in their fleet.

ScotRail Suburban Fleet (EMU and BEMU) Market Engagement

The electrification of these sections, will these battery trains cope with the climb from Newtongrange to Fushiebridge? I know there issues with tapping into the grid on the route but surely extending the wires from Shawfair to even Gorebridge would be achievable? Seems a long section to run on...

9M50 - 9 Car Pendolino Low Speed Buffer Collision At London Euston - 05/07/2025

FYI - This is a very distressing and rare situation. The driver is a human being after all. Trains can be repaired, no one was injured. The drivers welfare is most important here. they were reported to being very distressed after the incident.

ORR to strengthen guidance on compensation when passenger assist fails

As a guard, I'm also fed up of people putting luggage in the wheelchair spaces and self entitled parents who feel their huge oversized prams take priority - it's a wheelchair space ... some of us staff take our responsibility toward disabled customers seriously.

What is this on a Pendolino?

You're correct they're a light sensor, supposed to make the lights more ambient...

Why are Virgin trains so precious about their wifi?

I had a good conversation with one of the tech guys at the wifi suppliers a few months ago. The biggest issues especially on the WCML is the lack of masts (large chunks of mostly sparsley populated areas) and the mast to mast handovers. The Operators don't want a mast being hammered by 200+...

    Edinburgh Binliner Axed..?

With this in the news today http://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/our-region/edinburgh/powderhall-refuse-depot-set-to-close-two-years-early-1-4326973 I assume this will mean the end of the Binliner trains and the possibile lifting of the Fountainhall to Meadowbank freightline?
